Canvas Prints

At LuxeCanvasArt, we focus on one product line: gallery-quality canvas wall art. Our studio prints on 400 gsm cotton-polyester canvas with archival pigment inks, then stretches each piece on a solid pine frame for shipping. The catalog runs from 12 inches up to 142 inches across — the largest size available in the niche.

How our canvas prints are made

  1. File assessment. Every order is reviewed by a print technician before production. We flag low-resolution files and color issues before they reach the printer.
  2. Material match. Canvas weight and finish are matched to the artwork. Painterly and abstract designs go on textured 400 gsm cotton-poly; photography goes on the same canvas with adjusted color profile.
  3. Color profiling. Calibrated proofs ensure that what you see on screen matches what comes off the printer within professional tolerance.
  4. Three-stage quality check. Each piece is inspected at print, stretch, and packing stages before shipping.

For oversized canvas (60 inches and wider), we run dedicated wide-format printers with seamless coverage edge to edge. This is how panoramic landscapes and large abstract pieces stay sharp without tiling.

Where canvas wall art works best at home

The most common placements our customers order for:

  • Living room above the sofa — 40×60 or 48×72 inches are the most ordered sizes.
  • Bedroom above the bed — 36×48 fits a queen, 40×60 to 48×72 for king.
  • Dining room above the table — width roughly two-thirds the table length.
  • Office, entryway, and hallway — 24×36 and 30×40 for smaller walls.
  • Open-plan walls and stairwells — oversized formats up to 142 inches across.

Construction details

Our canvas is finished with three edge options: mirrored image wrap (the image continues onto the sides), white edge wrap, or black edge wrap. Stretcher bars are 20 mm solid pine — deep enough to give a clean gallery-wrap profile and stable enough not to warp under normal indoor humidity.

Every canvas ships ready to hang. Standard sizes go in sturdy double-walled cardboard with foam corner protection; oversized pieces ship in custom-built crates via DHL.

Durability and longevity

Archival pigment inks are rated light-fast for 75 to 100+ years indoors and out of direct sunlight. Our canvas is treated with a UV-resistant protective coating that adds a barrier against minor scratches and surface soil. The coating is matte — it does not change the look of the canvas. With basic care (dust monthly, keep out of direct sun, maintain 40 to 55% humidity), a piece holds its color for decades.

Frequently asked questions about canvas prints

What exactly is a canvas print?
A canvas print is artwork printed directly onto a cotton or cotton-polyester fabric that has been stretched over a wooden frame. The result is a textured, fabric-surface piece ready to hang — no glass, no outer frame required.

Is canvas the same as a canvas painting?
No. A canvas painting is an original work made by hand. A canvas print is a high-resolution reproduction printed on the same kind of canvas surface. Our store sells canvas prints, not original paintings.

Is canvas better than a regular paper print?
For wall art at 24 inches and larger, yes — canvas has no glare, no fragile glass, and scales much larger. For small detailed photography (under 16 inches), framed paper is often the better choice.

What is "gallery wrap"?
Gallery wrap is when the image continues over the sides of the stretcher bars and is stapled on the back. There is no visible staple or border on the front or sides. It is the standard finish on our canvases unless you add a floater frame.

Do you make canvas prints from my own photos?
Custom artwork from your own reference image is available on request. Contact us with the image and the size you want, and we will quote turnaround. Custom orders typically add 2 to 3 days to production.

How much do canvas prints cost?
Pricing varies by size and format. Smaller canvases (16×20, 24×36) start around the low double digits, oversized statement pieces (60×80 and up) run into the high hundreds. Adding a floater frame adds 15 to 40% depending on size and finish. Shipping is free across the US and Canada.

How long until I receive my canvas?
Standard production is 1 to 2 business days. Shipping is 3 to 10 business days depending on size and destination, by UPS for smaller pieces and DHL for oversized. Total door-to-door is usually under 2 weeks.
